About Vicki

Where are you from?
I'm from all over! Cincinnati, Ohio, to Seminole, Florida to Nagoya, Japan to Ithaca, New York.

Do you have a favorite place in Tacoma?
I love going to Point Defiance Park with my family. It's a popular destination, but there is good reason for this! Point "D" is incredible. I am not quite sure what my dog, Nugget, would do without it.

Name a class at Puget Sound you are interested in, but haven't taken.
I took a look at our current offerings, and I would just love to take Nineteenth Century Art and Architecture in Europe and the Americas. I am a Humanities student at heart. I could spend a life time swimming around in the ideas and motivations behind art and construction within western and eastern culture!

What is a book that has been influential for you?
Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton. Now, before you raise your eyebrows at that one, let me explain. I was a late bloomer when it came to reading. I was much more interested in singing, acting, and friends as a young person. Then came my senior year of high school, and one of our assignments was to read and then watch Jurassic Park. The book was super accessible, and it was made into a blockbuster movie! I was hooked, and I realized that books could be quite entertaining. I promise, I moved onto other more lofty reads. We all have to start somewhere.
