Twentieth-Century German Film

This course follows the development of German cinema from the first silent classics, through the 1930s and Nazi Germany, the Cold War in the GDR and the FRG, the avant garde productions of 'New German Film' in the 1970s and early 1980s, to the high-speed urban dramas of the 1990s.

Prerequisites: GERM 201 and 202 or their equivalents.
