Empowering Technologies: Energy in the 21st Century

Through a variety of readings, in-class discussion, and short writing assignments, students increase their ability to develop effective oral and written arguments and become familiar with concepts and practices of information literacy. The course topic revolves around the technologies currently in use for electrical power generation. Students gain an understanding of the physical principles involved in electrical power generation, the historical development of electrical power in the United States, and the variety of sources used to generate electrical power.
