Introduction to Philosophy

Representative philosophical topics, such as mind and body, the grounds of knowledge, the existence of God, moral obligation, political equality, and human freedom, are discussed in connection with major figures in the philosophical tradition originating in ancient Greece, e.g., Socrates, Plato, Descartes, Hume, Rousseau, and Nietzsche, and with contemporary philosophers who are heirs to that tradition.
