Housing Options
A liberal arts education is so powerful because curiosity and debate are part of life, not only of classes. Puget Sound's residential campus promotes a 24/7 learning experience through varied housing options, many of which include thematic programs that keep conversations humming. First-year students have a choice of academic residential seminars, in which they live in a residence hall with other students in their first-year seminars.
Theme House Living
The most popular specialized housing options on campus are the Theme Houses. Small groups of four to eight students lives in each house, where they develop and present theme-related programs for the campus community. Popular houses include the Outhaus (offering outdoor recreational activities), Green House (raising awareness about environmental issues), Muses (featuring performances by music students), the Ben & Jerry's Literature House (offering book club-style meetings that pair ice cream flavors with great works of literature), the Comic House (examining current social and political issues in comics), and a wide variety of athletic and foreign language houses.
