Congratulations! Now that you are graduating, you'll be wrapping up many responsibilities as a student and preparing for a new future. Part of this preparation needs to include planning for repayment of your educational loans.
To finalize your PLUS Loan requirements, you need to complete an online loan exit counseling session. If you do not have a user name and password already established, you will need to register as a first time user. We will receive confirmation after you have completed the session.
What if I've forgotten who my lender is?
Lender information is located on the Master Promissory Note (MPN) you completed prior to receiving loan funds. You can easily and quickly determine who your lender is by visiting the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). In addition to lender information, NSLDS includes detailed information about your loan balances. To access your records you will need your Department of Education PIN . If you have forgotten your PIN, you can have it reissued at the Federal Student Aid PIN website.
It is possible that you have more than one lender, which means you will have more than one lender to repay. Loans received while enrolled at Puget Sound prior to Summer 2009 were associated with a number of different lenders, such as Sallie Mae, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, etc. Loans received Summer 2009 and later are Federal Direct Loans where the federal government serves as the lender. The terms and conditions are very similar although there are some differences in repayment plans and borrower benefits.
Loan Consolidation might make sense for you if you have more than one lender.
