Prerequisites
Most students take prerequisites as part of their undergraduate program. The prerequisites are ED 419 and ED 420 or their equivalent. If needed, prerequisites are offered at Puget Sound during the summer prior to the beginning of the program. Tuition for these prerequisites is $2,500 per course. Financial Aid
Student Financial Services staff members are available to discuss financing options for the total cost of the MAT and MEd graduate programs. Financial aid available to graduate students is composed of federal loans and a limited number of departmental scholarships.
Eligibility for need-based financial aid is based on demonstrated financial need. Financial need is defined as the difference between the total cost of attending Puget Sound and the amount you are expected to contribute as calculated by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The cost of attendance is the total cost of tuition billed by the university, plus a standard calculation for room and board allowance, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses.
The FAFSA must be completed each year. The first time you complete the FAFSA you will be considered for financial aid for the fall and spring terms. Because summer term is considered the start of an academic year, you must complete another FAFSA to determine eligibility for summer financial aid. Priority deadline for FAFSA renewal is March 1.
