Why did you choose University of Puget Sound?

I chose Puget Sound for a variety of reasons: it was far enough away from home but still close enough so that I could visit on weekends, a rigorous and high-caliber school of music, small classes and access to professors. After two and a half years at Puget Sound, I know I chose correctly. I can't imagine a place that would better suit my interests and needs.

What professor has especially inspired you during your time at Puget Sound?

Without question the professor that has inspired me most has been Patrick O'Neil, a Politics and Government professor who specializes in Comparative Politics and focuses much of his current research on Iran. Professor O'Neil's drive and dedication to his students and his subject are infectious. He's the kind of professor that sends links he finds pertinent and interesting to the class at 10:00PM on a Friday night. I've unfortunately already taken all courses that Professor O'Neil offers but would retake them in a second if I could.

What is your favorite food in the Wheelock Student Center?

This is a tough one and often dependent upon my mood and how healthy I'm pretending to be. Sometime its a taco salad kind of day: fresh greens with chicken, cheese, and guacamole. At other times its a soup and panini day.

What campus activities do you participate in?

One my favorite aspects about Puget Sound is the involvement of nearly every student both in and out of the classroom. I'm involved in the Campus Visit Program and have served as a an Overnight Host, Tour Guide and am currently a Coordinator. I'm involved in several choirs on campus including Garden Level, our all-male a cappella group. I'm a bit of a moonlighting thespian as well and have acted in several plays a musical and an opera. I've also served as a Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound Senator and Honor Court member as well as orientation leader.

Who is your favorite character from a movie/book/television series?

At present my favorite character is Phil Dunphy from the T.V. series Modern Family. However, my all time favorite character award goes to Dr. Tobias Fünke from Arrested Development.

If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?

The first flight of the Wright Brothers' airplane at Kitty Hawk, N.C. I love airplanes.

What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?

Anything James Taylor.

Where are they now?

Brian will be serving as the Associated Students of University of Puget Sound (ASUPS) President for the 2012-2013 year. Congrats, Brian!
