International Admission Checklist - Transfer

- Common Application: Complete the Common Application for Freshmen, including the essay and $50 application fee (U.S. funds), and submit your application online by the priority deadline.
- Supplement: Complete the Puget Sound Transfer Supplement. Submit via Common Application or download here.
- College Official's Report: The College Official's Report gives us information about your university enrollment and signifies honorable dismissal from your previously attended institution(s). Complete your portion of this form and give to your university advisor, registrar, or other administrator. Submit via Common Application or download here.
- College Instructor Evaluation: This evaluation form should be completed and sent to Puget Sound by an instructor at your current university , or the one you attended most recently. Complete your portion of this form and give to your instructor. Submit via Common Application or download here.
- Transcripts: Arrange to have official transcripts of all work completed on the high school and/or university level forwarded directly from the institution(s) attended to the Puget Sound Office of Admission. Students sitting for school certificates should request the Examination Board of Council to forward results directly to the university. We are unable to take action on copies of transcripts or certificates issued to the applicant. Transcripts must be in English.
- Standardized Tests:
- TOEFL or IELTS: English proficiency must be established by submitting the official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum score of 90 on the TOEFL ibt or 6.5 on the IELTS is recommended.
- International students do not need to submit TOEFL of IELTS scores if:
- The applicant has been attending a college or university where English is the language of instruction for at least 2 years. If you believe you qualify for this exemption please email eorr@pugetsound.edu explaining your situation.
- The applicant is a citizen of Australia, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Singapore, or the United Kingdom.
- International students do not need to submit TOEFL of IELTS scores if:
- ACT or SAT: Transfer applicants who have completed less than a year of university coursework are required to submit official ACT or SAT scores. Learn more about required exams here.
- TOEFL or IELTS: English proficiency must be established by submitting the official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum score of 90 on the TOEFL ibt or 6.5 on the IELTS is recommended.
- International Student Financial Statement: All international applicants (including Canadian applicants) must submit the College Board's International Student Certification of Finances and can choose to fill out the College Board's CSS/PROFILE (International Student Financial Aid Application) as well. You can complete the PDFs linked below and submit them to the Office of Admission by email to admission@pugetsound.edu or fax at 253.879.3993.
