Applicants -

Step 1 - Review all scholarships listed below in which you will submit application.  Prepare any required essays associated with the scholarship before you begin the application process.

Step 2 - Have information regarding your extra-curricular activities, employment history, and Puget Sound transcript to respond to general questions.

Step 3 - Apply for any or all of the scholarships listed below via this one application form.

Sirach Endowed Scholarship

This award was in 1998 to honor a junior or senior business major demonstrating financial need and merit.

Award varies with fund balance and number of recipients awarded
Eligibility A business major who exemplifies the mission and values of the School.
Essay Reflect on your commitment to maintain a high grade point average. Maximum 2000 characters.

Mabel A. and Richard K. Wasson Scholarship

This award was established by a merger of the Richard Wasson Memorial Fund and the Ida Wasson Memorial Fund, and gifts from friends and family of Richard K. Wasson.

Eligibility SBL major who exemplifies the mission and values of the School; class standing on the application due date is freshman, sophomore, junior, or first semester senior.

This award was established in 2002 by Mr. and Mrs. Alvord.

William Wege and Anne E. Waltman Scholarship

The Anne E. Waltman '80 endowed scholarship fund was established by William Wege through a bequest in his estate plan in honor of Anne who is his daughter. William's name was added in 2006 after his death.

Leroy Frank & Beatrice Bainard Memorial Scholarship

This award was established in 2006 from the Bainard estate to fund scholarships for business majors demonstrating merit.

Business Leadership Council Scholarship

This award was established in 2001 by members of the Business Board of Visitors (regional business leaders who serve as an advisory board to the President and the Board of Trustees of the university). The Board name was changed to Business Leadership Council in 2006. Members of this Board established this endowed scholarship to help make a first rate interdisciplinary business education available to all Puget Sound students who demonstrate academic merit and/or have demonstrated financial need.

John P. Dickson Scholarship

This award was established in 2004 by John P. Dickson through a charitable gift from John's estate to recognize business majors involved in University and community volunteer work.

Award varies with fund balance and number of recipients awarded
Eligibility Declared majors in SBL whose class standing on the application due date is junior, or first semester senior and has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20. Good citizenship is a critical factor for scholarship candidacy.
Essay Describe the contributions you have made to society through volunteer work. Please specify your involvement in both the university community and the surrounding community. Maximum characters 2000.

James F. Morris Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2004 with a gift from the James F. Morris estate.

Matthew "Rick" Pratt Minority Scholarship

This scholarship was established through a gift from the friends and loved ones of Matthew "Rick" Pratt.

Amount varies with fund balance and number of recipients awarded
Eligibility Business majors from underrepresented groups (as defined by the university's diversity strategic plan) with a class standing on application due date of second semester sophomore, junior, or first semester senior; demonstrated financial need and high grade point average.
Essay How do you define your own diversity? Explain the importance/value of diversity in enhancing your education. Maximum 2000 characters.

John Prins Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1978 to honor a former Puget Sound professor's commitment to international business. Students submit an essay on their interest in international management and are selected based on academic and co-curricular involvement with internationalism.

Eligibility SBL major; class standing on the application due date is sophomore, junior or first semester senior; academic ability; likelihood of making a contribution to the international management community.

Ellery Capen Scholarship

Named for one of the founders of the School of Business and Leadership who taught accounting from 1932 to 1969, the funds support outstanding business and leadership majors with an accounting or finance emphasis.

Eligibility Students majoring in business and/or economics; class standing on the application due date is second semester sophomore, junior, or first semester senior; demonstrated interest in accounting is preferred (others encouraged to apply).
ESSAY Explain your interest in accounting. Consider how you will incorporate accounting into your professional endeavors. Maximum allowed response: 2000 characters.
