Laura Erskine

Laura Erskine is a 2013 graduate of the University of Puget Sound's School of Education, earning a Master's in the Art of Teaching. She is also a part of the Puget Sound class of 2012, graduating with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education. A Logger through and through, Laura has been heavily involved in the Tacoma community. She has volunteered at many schools and two clinics throughout the area, working with all age groups in music. For two years, Laura has been in leadership positions with the Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble, directed by Gerard Morris, leading sectionals, and conducting the ensemble in rehearsal and concert. Laura also believes strongly in the wonderful work that can take place at summer camp, and has been the assistant in Community Music's Brass Camp for three years as well as a counselor and trumpet teacher at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, MI.

While in school, Laura performed with the University Wind Ensemble and Concert Band, University of Puget Sound Orchestra, and the University Jazz Band. Ms. Erskine conducted both the Wind Ensemble and the Concert Band, as well as the Percussion Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and the Logger Pep Band.

Ms. Erskine enjoys encouraging musicianship and expression along with good practice techniques in all her students.
