The colloquium will takes place at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma in April. As you may remember, the colloquium was first organized by our former colleague, Dr. Oswaldo Estrada, currently at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, as a forum to share our research with our students and colleagues in the area and also to showcase the work of some of our better students.
Over the past few years the colloquium has evolved significantly from a small in-house exercise for Puget Sound faculty in Hispanic Studies to what is progressively becoming a regional conference. Sessions on Latin American, Peninsular, and Latino literature and culture with colleagues from regional institutions mix with sessions showcasing the work of selected undergraduates from upper-level literature classes. In addition, we hope to have a fair number of graduate students from the University of Washington presenting as well.
The optimal place to park on the wonderful University of Puget Sound campus is either in a parking lot next to Kittredge Hall and Art Gallery or in another parking lot near the intersection of 11th and N. Alder St.
