In order to enter the Science Core Facility Microscopy Image Contest, all fields in the form below must be completed. Before entering information into the form, we recommend collecting the following necessary information in a separate file such as a Word Document and copying the information into the form fields below. Please see our Example Submission to see what a good submission should look like.
Information pertaining to each sample such as sample type, how the sample was prepared, explain what any stains, dyes, or fluorophores are labeling, and any other information you think the judges would find useful about your sample.
Details of the equipment setup must be included with each entry, including the type of microscope, camera system if applicable, software used to prepare your image, magnification used, and any other significant information pertaining to the use of equipment.
This is your chance to describe the importance of your image to the judges. Describe what impact your image has on your field of study. Is new information being revealed? Does your image help tell a story or fill in missing information? Is the image important for understanding a biological process or scientific concept?
In 75 words or less describes the image and its key features that will accompany your image on the poster during the Fall Poster Symposium. This should be similar to a figure legend you see in published primary literature. Remember this is what people will see during the People's Choice portion of the judging so it's your chance to succinctly describe what they are looking at and why its important.
