Diversity in the Curriculum

The Diversity Curriculum Resource is a new tool to assist course schedule planning.  In response to students’ requests, the Curriculum Development and Faculty Advising Task Force of the Diversity Advisory Council asked faculty members to identify courses that contain significant diversity content, including attention to race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender, disability, social class, and/or international content.

Any such list will inevitably need to be adjusted over time as courses are added or dropped from the curriculum.  Those who have participated in this significant project hope that the resource is a helpful one as a first-step in academic program and schedule planning.  We encourage you to consult course descriptions and to contact course instructors directly if you would like more information about particular courses.

The Diversity Advisory Council, which guides implementation of Puget Sound’s Diversity Strategic Plan, welcomes feedback on this and other efforts to meet the objectives of the University Diversity Statement.  If you have comments, questions, or would like to join in the work of the Curriculum and Advising Task Force or the Campus Climate Task Force, we invite your messages at diversity@pugetsound.edu.
