Interested in checking out the Nature in the Classroom Lessons to teach in your classroom? The Slater Museum hosts workshop style trainings each fall. Additional trainings are sometimes scheduled if there is sufficient interest. You will learn to handle museum specimens and use them in three experiential inquiry based lessons which meet Next Generation Science Standards. Teachers in the Tacoma School District are able to get clock hours for attending the training, historically teachers from other districts have been able to as well.
Dinner and a tour of the museum are provided. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
