- Rats eat seeds and nuts and anything humans eat and take advantage of bird feeders, compost piles, or garbage
- They are an extremely successful rodent and are found almost everywhere in the world were humans are common.
- Their incisors are used to gnaw entry holes in houses and buildings where rats can be rather destructive because once inside, they nest, store food and poop in the walls, crawl spaces, attic, kitchen cabinets and pantries.
