Academic Department Liaison Program

Collins Library has librarians designated as subject experts. Any librarian can help you with research but when you need an extensive consultation on a research topic, librarians who specialize in the topic you are working on may know of additional resources and helpful strategies in that subjects. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to contact a liaison librarian by email or appointment request form.

CONTACT INFORMATION

The academic department liaison program has been established as a channel of communication between the public service librarians and the teaching faculty.

 

Liaison Program Goals

*To serve as an information consultant for the academic department

*To answer questions, resolve problems, interpret library policy, and provide information about library resources

*To help faculty develop high quality collections in their subject areas

*To teach course integrated sessions that focus on research skills

*To provide reference assistance with faculty research

*To collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into students' learning
