To the Letter, a solo exhibit by Chandler O'Leary runs April 1-30, 2009 in Collins Memorial Library, University of Puget Sound. A reception will be held for the artist Thursday, April 2, 2009, 4:30 to 7:00pm. O'Leary's artist books, letterpress prints and textile work explore the connection between handwork and a visual record of reality. In her first solo exhibition, hand-drawn type and patterns trace a conceptual network and forge a dialogue between the eye and the hand.
Chandler O'Leary is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), with year in Rome under her belt. Her work includes artist books, illustration, graphic design, textiles, letterpress printing, and drawing, to name a few. Her books and prints are collected and exhibited internationally.
