A medical withdraw may be an appropriate response to a sudden and catastrophic medical condition or accident that prevents a student from completing the semester's work. A medical withdraw may be preferable because it results in all "W's" rather than "WF's," but it is not an option for longstanding health problems. The medical withdraw is not for a chronic physical or mental health disorder, but rather, for a "sudden and catastrophic" event. A student may petition the Academic Standards Committee for an official Medical Withdrawal by completing a Medical Withdrawal Petition. Complete details of policy and procedure are in The Logger under the Grade Information and Policy section.
