Each year philanthropic support from parents to the Puget Sound Parents Fund allows the university to continue to offer classes and programs of the highest quality. Gifts to the Parents Fund provide annual, unrestricted funding for the university’s general operating budget. Support of this budget is the most powerful form of financial support to the university, as it allows Puget Sound to act with operational flexibility based on current needs.
Gifts to the Parents Fund play an important role at Puget Sound by helping to supply financial aid to nearly 90 percent of the student body, by assisting the university as it seeks to attract and retain gifted faculty, by fostering sport teams and clubs, and by providing funding that helps to enhance and preserve Puget Sound’s beautiful buildings and grounds.
Parents’ investments in the Puget Sound Parents Fund allow the university to remain a supportive learning and living environment, helping students keep pace in the rigorous and changing global community. In fiscal year 2013–14, gifts to the Parents Fund totaled more than $801,900. Combined gifts from parents, alumni, faculty, staff, foundations, and corporations provided over $2.596 million in additional and much-needed unrestricted operational support to University of Puget Sound. Critical to the success of the Puget Sound Parents Fund are parent volunteers, who financially support Puget Sound and who serve as ambassadors for the university. By providing support you can help Puget Sound continue to set a standard of excellence in higher education.
