In July 2010, the University of Puget Sound began a year-long process in preparation for the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) package to replace the existing core of the current information system.
President Ronald R. Thomas and the President's Cabinet endorsed the project and chartered the Steering Committee for Enterprise Resource Planning to guide the process. The university retained Collegiate Project Services (CPS) to assist with this process.

ERP is an integrated technology solution for managing the internal and external resources of an organization utilizing a single software system and a single database. In higher education institutions, standard ERP applications include student and academic information, financial aid, human resources, financial management, admission, and institutional advancement.
The University of Puget Sound ERP implementation focuses primarily on the processes and interfaces currently supported by Cascade and Banner.
