Chief Information Officer

William Morse serves as the university's Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Associate Vice President for Technology Services. As such, he provides leadership in the creation and execution of a comprehensive vision for information and communication technologies in support of Puget Sound’s mission and goals. William oversees the staff of Technology Services and reports to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, Sherry Mondou.

Prior to Puget Sound, William served as chief information officer at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, where he was responsible for all aspects of information technology services and accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time with few resources. William served as a technology leader at Emory University for eleven years, nine as chief information officer for the Rollins School of Public Health. 

William is active in his profession and has written or contributed to numerous articles on information technology in higher education. While at Emory, he helped develop a ground-breaking bioinformatics program and has taught in that program since its inception. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science and a Juris Doctorate degree in Law with honors from Emory University.
