Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to accept mailed or faxed application materials. Some searches will require additional materials (for example, portfolios, teaching evaluations, or reference letters) to be submitted in electronic format to a position specific email address; materials not requested for submission via email will not be included in your application for consideration. Should you have difficulty applying online, please contact our office at hr@pugetsound.edu or 253.879.3369 for assistance.

To whom should I address my cover letter?

Please address your cover letter to the “Search Committee” or “Hiring Manager.” Inquiries regarding the status of the search or about the position may be directed to our office using the contact information above. How will I know if my application is complete?

To view your application materials, please log in to the staff employment site or faculty employment site, depending on the application type submitted, using the username and password you created when applying for a position. From the main jobs page, click on "My Careers." This page will display all of your applications and provide links to your submitted materials. If you need to update your required documents, change items in your personal profile, or if you did not respond fully to the questionnaire for the position, you should complete a new application for the position by returning to the main jobs page. If you submit a duplicate application, please send an email message to hr@pugetsound.edu with your full name, username, and title of the position for which you applied so that we may remove your duplicate application. Please note that an “Applied” status indicates that your resume and cover letter are under review by the search committee.

Can I update my resume or cover letter after I have submitted an application?

Yes. You may either submit a second application as described above, or you may send the updated materials via email to hr@pugetsound.edu along with the title of the position to which you have applied.

Why do you ask for salary expectations in my application materials?

If you are a selected to interview for a staff position, you may be contacted by the hiring manager or a Human Resources representative tro provide your salary requirements. This gives us a preliminary comparison between those requirements and our hiring rate or range.

If you are selected to proceed to the next stage in the hiring process, you will be contacted directly via phone or email for follow-up or with an invitation to participate in a phone or in-person interview. Because many search committees communicate these invitations via email, please designate the pugetsound.edu and pugetsound.jobs domains as protected senders so these email invitations do not go to email junk folders.
