Overnight Guests

There is an informational binder with useful guest information in every residence room. It contains detailed information on everything here, as well as local businesses, dining, and instructions for connecting your computer to our network, among other things. If you have a suggestion for some information that we should be including, please let us know!


In the event of an emergency, please call 253.879.3311 (security services) seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Lost keys/key cards will result in a $25.00 charge. There will be a charge for each lost residence hall room key and/or outside door key/key card not returned by the end of the day of check out. If both a key and a swipe card are lost the fee will be $50.00.

Internet Access
Each room is equipped with free, high-speed internet access. Instructions for accessing wi-fi are located in the information binder in each room. Apple or PC computers are available for use in several computer labs on campus. Contact the Conference Services office for login information (253.879.3483). 

Applying to the University of Puget Sound
If you would like more information on University of Puget Sound we have several opportunities for you to find what you're looking for.

  • stop by the Office of Admission in Jones, room 115, open all summer from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Student-led tours are available every hour on the hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • call 253.879.3211 with any questions.
  • Admission brochures are located in the foyers and lounges of residence halls.
  • at your last scheduled meal on campus, you will be given a Conference Services evaluation where you may request admission information on this form.

The University of Puget Sound has a northwest style, student-managed coffee and espresso bar, Diversions Cafe, located in Wheelock Student Center. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Coffee, espresso drinks, Italian sodas, juices and a variety of pastries are available for purchase daily.

If linens are being provided for your program, they include: 1 pillow, 1 pillowcase, 1 blanket and 2 flat sheets. Enough towels for the duration of the program are left in each bedroom. Bed linens are placed on each bed prior to registration; participants make up beds.

In Commencement and Trimble Residence Halls, beds are made prior to registration by university staff. 

Participants may contact Conference Services to request additional towels at any time.

Mail is delivered to the University of Puget Sound mailroom Monday through Friday. Please allow one additional day for delivery beyond your expected delivery date. Parcels arriving after a group's departure will be returned to the sender.

Conference Services cannot receive shipments or mail for any program earlier than two weeks prior to its arrival on campus. Due to limited storage space, shipments received more than two weeks in advance may have to be returned to the sender, and a handling fee may be assessed. All requirements listed in our shipping policy must be met by shippers.

Meals are served in the Diner in Wheelock Student Center. The entrance is located in the main lobby on the west side of the building. The following stations will be offering meals at varying times: Italian Station, Latin America Station, Asian Station, the Grill, and the Deli. Most stations will have vegetarian options in addition to the choices in the regular fare. There are also self-serve fresh fruit and salad bars, beverages and desserts. Conferences with food service include one entrée per meal period and we ask that you you not remove food from the dining area for health code reasons. While our housing facilities are not air-conditioned, our climate is mild and the humidity low.

The following items unfortunately cannot be provided by Conference Services, so you may wish to bring your own:
Alarm clocks, fans, hangers, reading lamps and mirrors (provided in restrooms and hallways).

Note: As most bathrooms are shared facilities, you may wish to bring a bathrobe and slippers with you.

While the majority of campus is alcohol free, guests 21 years of age and older are permitted to consume alcoholic beverages privately in their rooms. There are no refrigeration units in the rooms, though there are large refrigerators in the common kitchen areas in each residence hall.

There is no charge for parking on campus or at any campus-owned residence. We ask that you refrain from parking on neighborhood streets surrounding campus, there is plenty of parking on campus. We ask that you park only in designated locations (those with white or unpainted curbs, and not those with red, yellow, or blue curbs). Vehicles parked in spaces designated for faculty, staff, carpool or disabled guest will be cited.

Pets are not allowed in any buildings on campus, including residence halls. Animals that assist our disabled guests are the only exception to this policy and should be cleared through the Conference staff prior to arrival.

Wallace Pool (during lap and free swim hours) and the Fitness Center (during regular hours) are available to any registered guest at no charge (check your room or call Conference Services for information on specific hours of availability). Other facilities available for all conference packages include a lighted running track, indoor basketball and racquetball courts. For facility and equipment (including basketballs, volleyballs, frisbees, footballs, etc) availability contact Conference Services. A signed waiver is required for any person who wishes to use either the Fitness Center or Wallace Pool.

Signs & Decorations
Materials used to post or display any signs must be approved in advance by Conference Services. Our posting policy outlines what materials may be used to post signs.

Smoking is prohibited in all campus buildings and within 25 feet of any doorways/windows.
