Lavender Graduates Celebration

This celebration is a time for graduates, family, and friends to recognize and applaud the unique challenges and successes of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender students and their allies.

As you look forward to graduation, Student Activities and the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations are planning an extravaganza celebrating your Puget Sound experience and send-off as an enthusiastic member of the Puget Sound Alumni Association.  Join your classmates and families for food, drinks and entertainment.

Academic Convocation

Academic Convocation is a celebration of student achievement in the academic life of the university.  The event will feature remarks by selected student and faculty speakers; presentation of university awards, Writing Excellence Awards, and departmental awards; and recognition of initiates into Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, graduate fellowship recipients, and research scholars. 

Graduates of Color Celebration
4 - 6 p.m.
Wheelock Student Center, Rasmussen Rotunda
Family and friends join graduates in recognition of their diverse journeys to a successful completion of their studies.  This ceremony honors graduates whose color is an important aspect of their heritage, identity and pride.

Commencement Brunch

Complimentary admission for 2015 Graduates

Members of the Class of 2015, families, guests, and faculty are invited to the Commencement Brunch on Sunday, May 17, in Wheelock Student Center.  Brunch will be served from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m.  Ticket prices are $18.95 for adults, $9.95 for children 12 and under, and $19.95 on Commencement day.  Tickets may be purchased between April 21 and May 15 (sales end at noon on May 16).  To purchase your tickets, please visit http://tickets.ups.edu, call 253.879.3100, or stop by the Information Desk in Wheelock Student Center after April 21.  Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended.  Payment may be made online, by phone or in person April 22 –May 16.  We accept cash, check, and credit cards.  Any remaining tickets after May 15 will be sold at the brunch for $19.95.  Lost tickets will not be replaced. Remember, the Class of 2015 receives free admission to the Commencement Brunch!

Interfaith Baccalaureate Service
10 - 11 a.m. 
Kilworth Memorial Chapel
The university's baccalaureate service provides students and families from all religious traditions the opportunity to gather and celebrate your achievements in a spiritual setting.  This service draws on resources from the religious and spiritual traditions represented in your graduating class, and is designed and led by graduates from diverse backgrounds with the support of University Chaplain Dave Wright '96.  For more information, please contact dwright@pugetsound.edu.

Graduate and Faculty Lineup and Last Student Walk Across Campus
1 p.m.
G.E. Karlen Quadrangle
Put on your cap and gown and meet your classmates at Karlen Quadrangle to assemble for the procession to Baker Stadium.  Please plan to take any personal photographs prior to the lineup- this will be a busy time, and we need your full attention to start your last student walk across campus on the right foot. 

Commencement Ceremony
2 - 4:30 p.m.
Baker Stadium
The stadium opens for seating at noon.  Tickets are not required.

Commencement Reception
4:30 p.m.
Event Lawn
Enjoy refreshments on campus immediately following Commencement.  Gather one more time with your family, friends and faculty to celebrate your graduation from Puget Sound.
