Optimize Puget Sound

Optimize Puget Sound is a mission-critical project to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of all operations at the University of Puget Sound. The university is implementing software from Oracle, but the project is about more than just employing new technology. It is about optimizing the ways in which the Puget Sound community works together and improving the many services offered by the university.

Timeline

Optimize Puget Sound consists of four major phases. The first involved the implementation of the PeopleSoft financials module, which went live July 2, 2012. Next the human resources module went live January 1, 2013. The campus solutions module (dealing with financial aid, registration, academic advising, and other student-focused functions) rolled out in March 2013. Ramping up the analytical capabilities of the system is the focus of the fourth and final phase.

Current Developments

The next major milestone for Optimize Puget Sound is implementation of the new portal, myPugetSound, to replace Cascade. Visit the project blog for the latest announcements and updates.

Training sessions and online instruction are available for those learning the new system. See the Optimize Puget Sound Training page.
