About VPN
A virtual private network (VPN) provides a secure and encrypted connection to the university's campus network from a computer located off campus. With a VPN connection, you can access restricted campus websites, university file servers (StudentFiles, StaffFiles and FacultyFiles), and the campus Exchange server.
To install and run our AnyConnect VPN Client software, your computer must have:
- The most current version of Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, Mac OSX 10.4 or above, or Linux
- Updated anti-virus software (free downloads available)
- A reliable Internet connection
For security and accessibility purposes, VPN connections are limited to 8 hours at a time. If you need to continue using the VPN, simply disconnect and reconnect the AnyConnect Client.
