Leda Sings Again
Once, a swan wrapped its wings around my back,
Left a kiss on my temple and ate my pinky finger.
I threw a box of tea to the river and woke
To find blood and feathers in my hair.
Have you ever raised your hands to the wind
And cried, "Bring me back my bird
"Bring back my beautiful bird
"My bird, like a touch and a whisper
"Cool blue silk on yellow skin."
