Exploring Careers
CES has a variety of resources available to assist you as you explore career options.
The more you know about yourself - your interests, skills, work values, etc. - the better prepared you will be to make career decisions. Assessments, interpreted by a CES career advisor are a great way to pinpoint potential career paths. You can also complete basic assessments on your own using Career Cruising.
Explore "What can I do with a major in..." online, using CES Career Resource Library books, Career Cruising, or by meeting one-on-one with a career advisor.
Learn about career fields by attending CES events!
Talk with alums! Read about informational interviewing and search the ASK Network for alumni in career fields of interest to you.
Also, it may be helpful to "try out" various career options. Internships, volunteer experiences, campus activities, and related part-time and summer employment are great ways to do this. As an added bonus, you'll develop skills and experience to put on your resume!
