Application Process
To apply to become a Teach For America Corps Member, visit www.teachforamerica.org and complete the online application. Early application is encouraged.
Application prerequisites:
--Bachelor's degree by June
--2.5 minimum undergraduate GPA
--U.S. citizenship or national/permanent resident status
All incoming corps members will attend the summer training institute following graduation and begin teaching in the fall of that same year, regardless of the deadline at which they apply.
Application Deadlines:
Deadlines typically fall in August, September, October, January, and February. Early application is encouraged. Visit the TFA website for specific dates.
Additional Organization Information: Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all backgrounds and academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and who become lifelong leaders in the movement to eliminate educational inequity.
Teach For America corps members have an immediate impact in the lives of children growing up today, and gain rare insight, personal strength, and credibility that enable them to work more effectively for change throughout their careers, whatever sector they choose to enter.
Corps members attend intense summer training institutes, are placed as full-time, paid teachers, and join a support network that helps them succeed during their two years in the classroom and beyond.
